No Official Palestine Entry Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Senator Risch, James E. [R-ID]
Introduced
Summary
Prevents the United States from recognizing or funding any Palestine Liberation Organization status in U.N. agencies that is beyond observer status. The bill would rewrite two provisions of existing foreign-relations law so the PLO cannot be accorded full membership or equal standing for the purposes of U.S. appropriations and contributions.

- PLO and Palestinian representation: It would stop U.S. recognition or funding from supporting any PLO status, rights, or privileges that go beyond observer status in U.N. agencies.
- U.S. funding and U.N. agencies: Federal contributions and appropriations would be constrained so they cannot be used to back U.N. actions that grant the PLO enhanced status.
- Taiwan exemption: The text explicitly says the law does not apply to Taiwan, preserving Taiwan’s status relative to these rules.

Limit Palestinian group recognition in UN
This bill would change two U.S. rules to stop the PLO from getting any status beyond observer in UN agencies. If enacted, U.S. agencies would not treat the PLO as having membership or rights equal to member states. That would limit U.S. funding or recognition tied to higher PLO statuses. The bill would also say it does not apply to Taiwan. Most U.S. households would not see a direct financial effect.
