North Topsail properties removed from barrier map
If enacted, this bill would require the Secretary of the Interior to correct a Coastal Barrier Resources System map. The map is dated November 25, 2024. It would remove from CBRS Unit L06 certain parcels inside the Town of North Topsail Beach. The parcels must be zoned by the town for non‑conservation uses as of the enactment date. The Secretary would have to make the corrections within 30 days after enactment. The Secretary would treat each removed parcel as meeting the CBRA criteria in section 4(g)(1)(B) (16 U.S.C. 3503(g)(1)(B)). Owners of excluded parcels could regain eligibility for some federal help tied to non‑CBRS lands. For example, this could include federal flood insurance if other program rules allow.
