Public permit status pages for applicants
If enacted, the bill would require the head of each covered agency to publish a webpage showing the status of permit applications. You would see which review stages are complete and which remain. The page would list how many days each stage took and how many days the application has been at the current stage. It would give contact information for each individual reviewer, describe the remaining steps before a final decision, and show an estimated timeline. The bill would define “agency,” “covered agency,” “permit” (using the definition in 5 U.S.C. 551), and “reviewing agency.”
