End some SEC authorities from Dodd Frank
This bill would end certain SEC authorities created by the Dodd-Frank Act. It would terminate any SEC authority that lets the SEC decide to require rules for private companies if the SEC had not issued a proposed rulemaking notice under 5 U.S.C. 553 or a guidance document before January 1, 2025. Termination would take effect on the date of enactment. The SEC would have 180 days after enactment to submit to Congress and publish a public list of each ended authority. If enacted, this would reduce the chance of new SEC rulemaking for businesses and could remove authorities the SEC might have used to pursue investor protections.
