Add Asian Pacific American history in schools

If enacted, this bill would require federal K–12 history programs and teacher academies to include Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander history. It would also amend NAEP history content to include that history. The Secretary of Education could award grants. The bill would let agencies work with the Smithsonian’s Asian Pacific American Center and National Parks for teacher and student resources. The text does not set new funding amounts; costs would depend on future appropriations.
