Jury ACCESS Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Senator Shaheen, Jeanne [D-NH]
Introduced
Summary
Bars excluding people from federal juries because of sexual orientation or gender identity. This bill would amend the federal jury-eligibility statute by inserting "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" after "sex," making those traits protected from exclusion. The change is a single, text-only amendment that broadens the list of characteristics courts and administrators must not use to disqualify potential jurors.
