Privacy protections for DACA applicants

This bill would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to keep information submitted for DACA private if sent after June 15, 2012. DHS would not be able to share that information with ICE, CBP, or state, local, or Tribal law enforcement except to run the DACA program. DHS could share information only to stop fraud, for national-security checks tied to a specific application, or to investigate or prosecute a non-immigration felony. The bill would also bar DHS from referring any person whose case is deferred under DACA to ICE, CBP, DOJ, or other law enforcement.
