Federal list of anarchist jurisdictions
This bill would make the Attorney General publish a federal list of "anarchist jurisdictions." It would define that term as a State or local government. Such a jurisdiction would be one that refused to take reasonable steps to stop violence or property destruction. The Attorney General must publish the first list within 14 days and update it at least every 180 days after initial publication. When deciding, officials would consider policies that limit police intervention, bans on policing certain areas (except brief tactical pauses), defunding or disempowering police, or refusing federal law-enforcement help. The Director of OMB must issue guidance within 30 days telling agencies to restrict federal grants to listed jurisdictions where allowed by law. If your city or county is listed, it could lose federal grant money and see fewer grant-funded services or projects.
