New farm board membership rules
This bill would change who must serve on the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation Board. If enacted, the Board would need at least one specialty crop producer when the bill takes effect. Beginning with Board terms serving on or after May 1, 2027, it would also need at least one producer who both raises livestock and grows crops. The change would affect appointments and increase representation for those producers. It would not change crop insurance payments or who qualifies for programs.
