Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

Continues tick and mosquito response through 2030

The law keeps federal help for tick and mosquito disease work. It authorizes support for state and local health departments for 2026 through 2030. It also extends the National Strategy and Regional Centers of Excellence for 2026 through 2030. This keeps planning, training, and outbreak response going nationwide.

HHS gets more flexibility on tick strategy

The law changes who HHS works with on the national tick strategy. HHS now works with “appropriate individuals” and can act “through” partners. This gives HHS more flexibility to run the strategy and the centers. The changes take effect upon enactment.
