Ban on debt threats to servicemembers

If enacted, the bill would bar certain debt-collection threats against covered individuals. Covered individuals would include covered members, their dependents, Selected Reserve members, and people separated, discharged, or released from covered duty in the 365 days after that date. Debt collectors would not be allowed to threaten to reduce rank, revoke a security clearance, or seek prosecution under the Uniform Code of Military Justice when collecting any debt of a covered individual.
