More CDC research on gun violence

This bill would authorize $50 million a year for the CDC for fiscal years 2026 through 2031. That is up to $300 million total. The money would pay for research on firearm safety and preventing gun violence under the Public Health Service Act. The authorization would be in addition to any other amounts and would not itself appropriate money. Congress would still need to appropriate the funds before the CDC could spend them. The authorization would expire after fiscal year 2031.
