End Community Connect, Aid ReConnect
This bill would end the Community Connect grant program by repealing its law. It would let the Agriculture Secretary use unused Community Connect money on the date of enactment for the ReConnect loan and grant pilot without more appropriation. The change would take effect upon enactment. Rural communities, small internet providers, local governments, and nonprofits could lose the Community Connect grant option but could benefit if unobligated funds are used for ReConnect projects.
