Exclude CTE student earnings from SNAP
If enacted, you could exclude some work earnings of a household member under age 21 from SNAP income. The student must be enrolled in career and technical education as defined in the Perkins Act. The pay must come from an apprenticeship, internship, or work-based learning that is part of that CTE program. The student must live with a natural, adoptive, or step parent or be under a household member's parental control. The Agriculture Secretary would set rules to verify enrollment, age, and household relationship. This could raise your SNAP benefit or help a household become eligible.
