Show full summary
  • Yosemite managers would take on about 160 acres, moving that land under National Park rules and changing who manages access and protections.
  • Stanislaus managers would gain about 170 acres, bringing that land under National Forest rules and altering management and permitted uses.
  • Holders of rights, easements, leases, licenses, and permits would keep their existing terms, but the agency receiving the land would administer those interests under applicable law.
  • Environmental cleanup responsibility stays with the agency that formerly managed each parcel, and the bill requires identifying known hazardous sites and sharing notices with the receiving manager.
  • Agencies could make minor boundary or survey corrections by mutual agreement, with those changes taking effect when published in the Federal Register.
