Keep Capitol Police pay flowing

If enacted, this bill would provide emergency funding so certain Capitol Police members keep getting pay and benefits during any FY2026 funding lapse. It would apply to members the Chief says are excepted or doing emergency work, civilian staff the Chief says support them, and contractors the Chief says provide support. Covered pay includes salaries, overtime, hazardous duty pay, health and retirement contributions, Social Security, some insurance, tuition help, and recruitment bonuses. Payments for October 1, 2025 through the day before enactment must be made as soon as practicable after enactment. The authority stops when Congress enacts the relevant FY2026 appropriations or by September 30, 2026, and cannot be used while other continuing appropriations cover the same purposes.
