Right to Representation for Department of Veterans Affairs Workers Act of 2025

Sponsored By: Senator Blumenthal, Richard [D-CT]

Introduced

Summary

Would give most Department of Veterans Affairs employees the right to a representative of their choice during examinations they believe may lead to disciplinary action. It would allow representation on duty time if applicable when the employee requests it. The measure defines who is a "covered employee" and excludes senior executives, certain statutory appointees, and political appointees. It would insert a new Section 708 into title 38 and update the chapter table to reflect that change.
