More mammogram access for veterans
If enacted, VA would remove the "pilot" label for telescreening mammography and could expand the service to more VA facilities. VA would have to offer at least one mammography option in every State and Puerto Rico within two years of enactment: the telescreening program, a full-service VA mammography clinic, or a VA mobile mammography unit. Each offered program would have to be accessible to veterans with paralysis, a spinal cord injury or disorder, or other disabilities. The telescreening changes would take effect on enactment and would expire on May 1, 2027.
