Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.
More Medicaid buy-in access for disabled workers
If enacted, this would add a Medicaid buy-in group for people who would get SSI but earn too much. It would apply to people age 16 and older. It would remove the explicit "under 65" age limit for the buy-in groups. It would also make clear that a state's optional buy-in can include the group described in section 1905(a)(xii). Changes would take effect upon enactment.
State transition for buy-in coverage
If enacted, states that already make these buy-in groups available would not be treated as out of compliance. That protection would last until January 1, 2028. The pause begins upon enactment.
