Tighter rules for naturalized citizens

If enacted, this bill would remove the current five-year time limit for starting denaturalization cases. It would let the government revoke naturalization at any time if a person is later convicted of any felony. The bill would also let prosecutors bring charges for obtaining citizenship by fraud at any time, while keeping a ten-year limit for some other immigration offenses. These changes would increase legal risk for people who became U.S. citizens by naturalization and for those accused of getting citizenship unlawfully.
