Remove 90/10 rule for for-profit colleges
This bill would repeal parts of section 487 of the Higher Education Act (20 U.S.C. 1094). It would remove paragraph (24) of subsection (a) and subsection (d). Those provisions implement the "90/10" rule that limited how much revenue for-profit colleges could get from Title IV aid. If enacted, for-profit colleges would be able to rely more on Title IV federal student aid, and that would increase risks for students and taxpayers.
