The Filipino Veterans Family Reunification Act of 2025 would create an exemption from the annual per-country immigrant visa cap for a specific class of family-based applicants tied to parents naturalized under certain wartime and 1990 laws.
Show full summary
- Families: Aliens who qualify for a visa under section 203(a)(1) or 203(a)(3) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and who have a parent naturalized under section 405 of the Immigration Act of 1990 or title III of the Act of October 14, 1940 would be exempt from numerical limits on immigrant visas. The parent may be living or dead.
- Visa allocation: Eligible applicants would not count against the per-country numerical limits on immigrant visas, so their visas would be issued outside the annual country caps.

More immigrant visas for Filipino veterans' children
If enacted, this bill would exempt certain family-based immigrant applicants from the annual per-country visa cap. You would qualify if you are eligible for a visa under INA section 203(a)(1) or 203(a)(3). You must have a parent who was naturalized under section 405 of the Immigration Act of 1990 or under title III of the Act of October 14, 1940 (as added in 1942). The parent may be living or dead. This change would take effect upon enactment.
