Easier dredging rules for ports
If enacted, the bill would let some people and companies be treated as eligible for a dredging certificate or endorsement without meeting the rule in section 12112(a)(2). It would also remove dredged material from the transportation rules in 46 U.S.C. 55110, lowering paperwork and compliance for ports, dredging companies, and barge operators. Together these changes would ease dredging and transport rules to help expand U.S. ports and would take effect upon enactment.
