New birth-tourism visa and deportation rules
If enacted, this bill would bar admission on B (visitor) visas for people judged to be entering mainly to give birth so a child gets U.S. citizenship. It would also make those people deportable if officials conclude they entered for that purpose or are likely to give birth within 10 months of entry. Homeland Security, the State Department, or a consular officer would make the judgment based on their reasonable judgment. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
