- If Gila County asks for the transfer within 180 days, the Secretary of Agriculture, through the Forest Service, would convey all right, title, and interest by quitclaim deed. The county must pay all conveyance costs, including any required survey, environmental studies, and historic preservation reviews.
- The land must be used only to serve and support veterans. If the county uses the land in ways that conflict with that purpose, the Secretary may require the property to revert to the United States.
- The conveyance is subject to valid existing rights and other terms the Secretary considers necessary to protect U.S. interests. The Secretary may correct minor map errors and is not required to provide any covenant or warranty under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.
