Higher retirement pay for some border officers
If enacted, certain Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers would get corrected retirement treatment. You would qualify if you got a CBP Officer job offer before July 6, 2008 and started duty on or after that date from that offer. You would be treated as on duty on July 6, 2008 for retirement rules, get at least the minimum annuity set in 2008, and be exempt from the usual mandatory retirement age. DHS would have 120 days to identify and notify eligible people and send records to OPM. OPM would fix annuities, including retroactive payments for those who already retired. DHS could waive the maximum entry age so you can retire immediately with the corrected benefit.
