Study for African Burial Ground Museum

If enacted, the Secretary of the Interior would direct the National Park Service to study creating the African Burial Ground International Memorial Museum and Educational Center at the African Burial Ground National Monument in New York City. It would check whether there are collections to acquire and house, including DNA from well-preserved human remains, and would examine exhibits, research, and partnerships. The study would evaluate possible locations (including 22 Reade Street), which Federal or other entity should operate the museum, and the costs to acquire land, construct, operate, and maintain the museum.
