Fertility coverage for FEHB enrollees

If enacted, this bill would add a new FEHB benefit called "fertility treatment benefits." If you are enrolled in FEHB, you would be able to get coverage for freezing eggs, sperm, or embryos. It would cover artificial insemination and assisted reproductive technology such as in vitro fertilization. It would also cover embryo genetic testing, fertility medicines (prescription or over-the-counter as indicated), and gamete donation. The Director of OPM, working with HHS, could approve other related fertility services. The change would take effect one year after enactment and applies only to FEHB enrollees and eligible dependents. The bill text does not specify new funding or coverage limits.
