New disclosures of foreign influence in lobbying
If enacted, lobbyists and lobbying firms would need to list the name and address of each foreign government, including its agencies or local units, that helps direct, plan, supervise, or control their lobbying. They would also need to list any foreign political party involved. This would not require listing the client. This would apply even if another part of current law would otherwise limit it. The aim is to give the public and watchdogs clearer information about foreign influence.
