Maritime fuel eligible for credits

If enacted, this bill would let fuel used by ocean-going vessels generate credits under the Renewable Fuel Program. EPA would have to write any needed implementing regulations within 1 year after enactment. The change would start in the second calendar year after enactment. EPA would also have to report to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee within 1 year after final rules. Renewable fuel makers, maritime fuel suppliers, and some shipping companies could get new credits. This could change fuel and credit markets and might indirectly affect consumer prices, but effects are uncertain.
