Alaska petroleum reserve plan canceled

This law cancels the Bureau of Land Management decision for the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska dated April 25, 2022. Under the Congressional Review Act, that rule has no force or effect. BLM may not enforce, implement, or rely on it. Congress cites a GAO opinion dated July 24, 2025 (printed July 28, 2025) that the decision is a rule. This takes effect upon enactment and mainly affects oil and gas operators and land managers in the reserve.
