A resolution recognizing a century of broadcasting excellence from WOWO and celebrating the radio station's 100th anniversary.
Sponsored By: Senator Banks, Jim [R-IN]
Introduced
Summary
100th anniversary of WOWO radio. This resolution would celebrate March 31, 2025 as the 100th anniversary of WOWO radio and formally recognize the station's century-long record of broadcasting from Fort Wayne. It would note WOWO's early start in 1925, its joining the CBS Radio Network in 1927, milestones such as the first radio broadcast of a basketball game, its midcentury role in news, sports, and rock and roll, and its later prominence as a conservative talk outlet affectionately called "The Voice of a Thousand Main Streets".
