A resolution designating May 2025 as "American Stroke Month".
Sponsored By: Senator Luján, Ben Ray [D-NM]
Introduced
Summary
Stroke awareness and prevention. This bill would designate May 2025 as "American Stroke Month" and would encourage awareness of causes, risk factors, and the F.A.S.T. warning signs of face drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty, and time to call 911. It would commend state and nonprofit efforts, support research, and promote improving access to affordable, quality care to reduce disability and death from stroke. It notes nearly half of U.S. adults have high blood pressure, a leading controllable risk factor.
