Summary

This resolution recognizes the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday and affirms Tibetan religious freedom. It designates July 6, 2025 as a "Day of Compassion", congratulates the 14th Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday, affirms the Tibetan people's human rights and regional autonomy, reiterates that the identification and installation of Tibetan Buddhist leaders is a matter for the Tibetan Buddhist community and the 14th Dalai Lama, condemns any foreign government's attempt to recognize a successor chosen outside that process, and requests that a copy of the resolution be presented to the Dalai Lama.
