Passed Senate
Summary
National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month is designated for September 2025 to raise awareness and promote research into treatments and cures. About 308,000 people in the United States live with spinal cord injuries and roughly 18,000 new injuries occur each year. More than 42,000 people with spinal cord injuries are veterans. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause and nearly half of injuries among people 30 or younger come from crashes. The resolution supports research and clinical trials and commends the organizations, doctors, volunteers, and families working to improve quality of life for people living with paralysis.
