Funding and staff rules for Aging Committee

If adopted, this resolution would let the Special Committee on Aging hire staff and spend from the Senate contingent fund from March 1, 2025 through February 28, 2027. It would allow the committee to use personnel from Federal departments or agencies if those agencies and the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration agree. It would set spending caps: up to $2.06 million for Mar 1–Sep 30, 2025; $3.53 million for Oct 1, 2025–Sep 30, 2026; and $1.47 million for Oct 1, 2026–Feb 28, 2027. For each period, no more than $1,500 may be spent on any one consultant and no more than $1,500 on professional staff training. The resolution would also authorize "such sums as may be necessary" from the Senate account for agency-side contributions to committee employee compensation for those same periods. Routine items like annual-rate salaries, Senate telephones, stationery, Postmaster fees, copying meter charges, recording and photo services, and franked or mass mail would not need vouchers.
