Funding limits for small business committee

This resolution would let the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship operate. The authorization would run from March 1, 2025, through February 28, 2027. It would cap spending for three periods. The caps would be about $2.77 million for March 1–September 30, 2025; $4.75 million for October 1, 2025–September 30, 2026; and $1.98 million for October 1, 2026–February 28, 2027. Each period would allow up to $50,000 for outside consultants and up to $10,000 for professional staff training. Expenses would normally be paid from the Senate contingent fund after vouchers approved by the committee chairman. The resolution would also say some items do not need vouchers, such as annual staff salaries, telecommunications, stationery, postal and copying charges, recording and photo services, and franked or mass mail costs. It would authorize the Senate "Expenses of Inquiries and Investigations" account to pay such sums as may be necessary for agency contributions to committee employee compensation during the same periods.
