The resolution documents demographic growth, noting Asian Americans grew nearly 55.5% and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander populations grew 30.8% between 2010 and 2020, states there are more than 25 million Asian residents and about 1.8 million Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander residents, recalls key anniversaries and milestones, highlights commemorative laws and mint programs, and calls attention to historic discrimination and a nearly threefold rise in hate crimes since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
