More education help for dependent parents
This bill would let a dependent parent of a person who died from a service-connected disability, or who is totally and permanently service-connected disabled, become eligible for survivors' and dependents' education payments. The bill would let the VA treat an eligible dependent parent like an eligible spouse for correspondence-course payments. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
Children added to benefit stop rules
This bill would add children to the rules that can stop survivors' and dependents' education payments. If enacted, the same paragraphs that can end a parent's or spouse's educational assistance could also end a child's assistance. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
