US 287 named Interstate I-47
If enacted, this bill would add US Route 287 as a High Priority Corridor and number it Interstate I-47. The corridor runs from State Highway 87 in Port Arthur, Texas to US Route 89 in Choteau, Montana. It would be listed as item (103) in the 1991 Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act and referenced in the interstate numbering section. The change would take effect upon enactment but the bill does not provide construction funding or timelines. States and DOTs could use the designation in planning and seeking future federal priority.
