See disaster aid spending online
If enacted, OMB, Treasury, and agencies would create a public page on the federal spending website to show disaster aid. Any covered agency that gave disaster help in a quarter would have 30 days after the quarter to post data. Posts would show total aid, amounts spent or obligated, and a list of projects with name, description, status, award ID, FEMA catalog number, and location by ZIP code. All data would be machine readable. Agencies would issue guidance to carry out these rules, and OMB could use a private or nonprofit partner to build the page. Reports would cover SBA, HUD, and agencies under the Stafford Act, and apply to federally declared disasters, including major disasters, emergencies, and certain wildfires. Reports would cover entities that get money directly from the federal government, not individual people.
