2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

New immigration bars for benefit fraud

If enacted, this would add new grounds to deny entry or deport noncitizens for certain fraud and benefit-theft crimes. It would apply if someone is convicted, or admits to the acts. Examples include SNAP fraud, Social Security number fraud, identity-document fraud, theft or bribery tied to federally funded programs, and mail or wire fraud. It would also cover major fraud against the United States, conspiracies, and any offense that unlawfully takes federal, state, or local public benefits.

No immigration relief after benefit fraud

If enacted, noncitizens who fall under the new fraud grounds would be barred from any immigration relief. This would block both discretionary and statutory relief under immigration laws. It would also block relief under a 1999 law cited in the bill.
