Introduced
Summary
Posthumous Congressional Gold Medal for Charles B. Rangel would honor his contributions to equality and public service. The bill would direct the Speaker of the House and the Senate President pro tempore to arrange a posthumous presentation on behalf of Congress, require the Secretary of the Treasury to design and strike a gold medal bearing Rangel’s image and name, and give the gold medal to his children Steven Rangel and Alicia Rangel. It would also allow the Secretary to strike and sell bronze duplicates to cover production costs and charge necessary expenses to the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund, with sales revenue deposited back into that Fund.
