HR4270119th Congress

Multiple Firearm Sales Reporting Modernization Act of 2025

Sponsored By: Representative Torres, Norma J. [D-CA-35]

Introduced

Summary

Expands multiple-firearm sales reporting to all firearms. This bill would require federal firearms licensees to report when they sell two or more firearms to the same unlicensed person within five consecutive business days, replacing the current law that limits that reporting to pistols and revolvers by changing the statutory phrase to "firearms".

Broader reporting for multiple gun sales

The bill would expand the current handgun report to cover all firearms. FFLs would need to report when they sell two or more firearms to the same unlicensed person within five consecutive business days. If you are not licensed and buy two or more firearms in five days, your purchase would be reported to federal authorities. The text here does not set an effective date or add funding.
