Food for Palestinian Children and Families in Gaza Act of 2026

More oversight of Gaza food aid

This bill would require the Secretary of State to certify within 30 days that oversight procedures are in place and in use to make sure Gaza civilians get enough food. It would set meal targets: at least three nutritious meals per day for all children in Gaza, and at least two nutritious meals per day for other civilians. The certification would reflect coordination with the World Food Program, UNRWA, other UN agencies, other donors, international NGOs, the Government of Israel, and Palestinian representatives. At the same time, the Secretary would send Congress a written description of those oversight policies covering U.S., other donor, and NGO assistance and describing Israel’s role. Within 30 days after the certification, the Secretary would deliver a public report on how much food is distributed, how many children and adults were served, which donors provided assistance, and how the food was distributed. The Secretary would promptly notify Congress whenever food meant for these meal targets is denied entry into Gaza, diverted, or misused, and would include the type of assistance, the donor, a description of the incident, and an explanation of the Department’s response.
