Summary
Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)-led entrepreneurship education in community learning centers would be created by directing the Small Business Administration to develop a volunteer-taught curriculum and a delivery strategy. Volunteer entrepreneurship classes at community centers
If enacted, community learning centers would be able to offer entrepreneurship classes taught by volunteer SCORE mentors. The Small Business Administration would have to create a SCORE curriculum in consultation with education, business, and underrepresented-community groups. The SBA would also work with the Education Department to roll out a strategy to teach the curriculum through community learning centers. Within 1 year of enactment, and every 2 years after, the SBA would report to the House and Senate small business committees on use, spending and procurement, training provided, students reached, barriers, and improvement plans.
