Limits military funding for Iran
The bill would bar the federal government from obligating or spending any funds for any use of military force in or against the Islamic Republic of Iran from the date of enactment through December 31, 2026. The bar would not apply if Congress declared war on Iran or passed a new law after enactment that specifically authorized the use of force. The bill would allow force that is consistent with section 2(c) of the War Powers Resolution. The bill would also allow force to defend the United States or an ally from an imminent attack only if the President fully complies with section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution.
