Department of Energy can buy and use drones
If enacted, this bill would let the Department of Energy buy, operate, and use covered unmanned aircraft systems from covered foreign entities that the 2024 NDAA otherwise restricts. The bill would add "Secretary of Energy" after "Secretary of State" in three NDAA provisions dealing with procurement, operation, and use of federal funds. It would also add "Department of Energy" after "Department of Transportation" in the NDAA accounting-exception provision. The change would take effect upon enactment and would not create new funding or change taxes or direct payments.
