New nationality limits for military service
This bill would bar anyone who is a national of a "covered nation" (as defined in 10 U.S.C. 4872(f)) from enlisting in the U.S. Armed Forces. It would also bar appointment of anyone who was a national of a covered nation at any time during the five years before appointment. The enlistment and appointment rules would apply to original enlistments or appointments made on or after 180 days after enactment.
