- Registered exchanges and clearinghouses would be barred from listing, clearing, or making available contracts that reference sporting events or casino-style games. This stops those products from appearing on federally registered markets.
- Traders and ordinary market users could no longer trade those event-linked contracts on registered platforms. That restriction targets contracts based on outcomes or statistics of live or virtual contests and casino-style simulations.
- States would keep their own authority. The bill says it does not override any State law or rule that regulates or bans these agreements.

Ban on sports and casino markets
This bill would ban registered entities (CFTC-registered trading platforms) from listing or clearing contracts tied to sporting events or casino-style games. Casino-style games would include slot machines, video poker, blackjack, roulette, craps, other casino table games, bingo, lottery, and simulations of those games. Sporting events would include live or virtual contests where people or teams compete, including amateur, collegiate, and professional sports. The ban would apply to contracts entered into on or after the date of enactment. The bill would also say it does not override State laws that regulate or prohibit such contracts.
